Auschwitz 1941 Wie ersichtlich ist, sind auf dem Gelände sehr viele Gewässer. Deswegen liegt der Grundwasserspiegel dicht unter der Erdoberfläche und es ist unmöglich, tiefe Gruben anzulegen, um darin Feuer zu machen. Der Plan für das Lager Birkenau 15. August
1942 Dokument 20: Gesamtplan der Bauleitung für das Kriegsgefangenen-Lager Birkenau vom 15. August 1942. Das Lager war für 200'000 Gefangene geplant und in vier Bauabschnitte aufgeteilt (I: 60'000; II: 20'000; III: 20'000; IV: 20'000); letztendlich umfasste das KGL Birkenau nur drei Bauabschnitte, BI, BII und BIII. Lediglich die beiden ersten wurden fertiggestellt. BIII, das als Krankenlager dienen sollte, wurde nur mit einem Drittel der Baracken bebaut und diente vor allem im Sommer 1944 als Übergangslager (Ungarn-Aktion). The camp was planned for 200.000 prisoners and should be built in four phases (I: 60.000; II: 20.000; III: 20.000; IV: 20.000); finally only three phases BI, BII and BIII were realized, and only the first two phases were completed. BIII should be a camp for ill fallen persons and only 1/3 of the planned barracks were built of it and it was used by provisory prisoners in Summer 1944 (Hungary campaign). |

Man erkennt, dass die Zone, in der Bunker 1 und Bunker 2 mit ihren Massengräbern liegen, als "Sperrgebiet" deklariert ist. The zone of Bunker 1 and Bunker 2 with it's mass graves is classified as restricted area. |
